    • Job Description

      The Criminal Practice Group is committed to providing excellent representation to people facing criminal charges and driver’s license sanctions. The firm is dedicated to providing a superior level of service and advice to our clients.

      This position works with the CEO, fellow attorneys, paralegals and administrative assistants to achieve outstanding results for our clients.

      Responsibilities

      1. Associate attorneys will represent clients in criminal and administrative cases in both state and federal courts throughout the state.
      2. Interview and advise potential clients about their legal options.
      3. Complete legal research and writing.
      4. Draft and argue motions.
      5. Negotiate effectively with opposing counsel.
      6. Trial preparation and execution on a quarterly basis.
      7. Regularly produce marketing materials, including written articles and recorded video production.
      8. Bill a minimum of 1,450 annual and collectable hours while providing an exceptional client experience.

      Minimum Experience

      1. 1-5 years of experience as a criminal attorney defense or prosecution.

      2. Trial experience, first or second chair.

      Associate Attorneys should have excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Excellent persuasive writing skills. Should be credible and discrete, with a high level of integrity and the ability to work with highly confidential and privileged information. Impeccable written and spoken language skills. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Possess strategic thinking and ability to prioritize and meet multiple competing deadlines. Attention to detail. The ability to analyze and solve problems.

    • Compensation, Benefits and Bonuses

      The firm uses a performance-based compensation model. The lowest base compensation is $100,000.00, which will increase commensurate with a candidate’s experience. The base salary will be earned when the minimum levels of performance are achieved. When Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) have been exceeded, bonus compensation will be earned the amount of which is commensurate with the value to the firm. A full benefit package is included which includes health & disability insurance, 401k, and paid time off/holidays.

      Work Environment

      The firm currently resides in Class A fully renovated office space located in downtown Royal Oak in close proximity to several retail and restaurant destinations. We have a private parking lot and work in a private office which maintains about 15 employees therein. Employees and clients love our office space which is representative of our success. The firm fosters a team culture and encourages the building of friendships between team members outside of work. The firm maintains an annual golf outing, hosts several team building activities and holiday parties.

      Selection Process

      The firm is very selective when adding team members. It is important that we take the time to ensure the right mutual fit. All elected candidates will undergo a comprehensive selection process. Selected candidates will undergo cognitive and behavior assessments, a screening interview (Zoom), a focused interview (in person) reference checks and the CEO interview (in person).
