If this sounds like you, we’re seeking a trailblazer to help us take our content marketing to the next level by building out our persona/content journeys, creating killer content that converts, building and measuring engagement and promotion plans, and leading the way with best practices, frameworks and management systems to help us learn, grow and scale.
We're looking for a content marketing manager who will develop and execute on strategic content ideas in the areas of education, thought leadership, sales, and brand.
S/he will also work to identify channels for content promotion and distribution including, but not limited to, earned media aligned with our personas and high-quality and relevant backlinks.
This person is a strong relationship builder who loves learning new things and has a solid working knowledge of SEO.
S/he is a great writer, and equally good editor. The content marketing manager’s main goal is to conceive, create, and deliver content that helps to improve the firm’s bottom line.
Responsibilities
- Work with digital, sales, and the managing attorneys to create a strategic content marketing plan mapped to personas pains/needs across the buyer’s journey
- Plan and execute an editorial calendar with weekly, monthly, and quarterly content plans
- Create, curate, edit, publish, and promote content such as blogs, whitepapers, eBooks, infographics, videos, social media content, and webinars across owned and earned channels
- Manage, develop, and optimize the firm’s email marketing, social media, and webinar efforts
- Work with our digital marketing manager to develop, execute, and optimize an SEO plan
- Create, execute, and refine a backlink outreach plan that results in an ever-increasing number of high quality backlinks that improve our websites’ domain authority
- Distribute our content across multiple channels and platforms to reach and impact our personas
- Develop a brand style guide for the firm
- Write, edit, and optimize all content, making sure each piece adheres to our brand attributes, style, and tone
- Seek out and interview attorneys, clients, experts, and others who can contribute to – and sometimes just contribute - thoughtful content aligned with our goals
- Pull and review content metrics to understand impact/ROI across buying stages for continuous improvement
- Build and manage a content audit and asset inventory process
- Provide content gap analysis reporting to help to determine content needs
- Project manage content development with vendors, outside agencies, and copywriters
- Continuously work to deliver more qualified leads, reduced sales cycles, and higher win rates
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or relevant equivalent work experience
- A minimum of three years content marketing experience and results
- Experience developing and managing content management strategy, calendar, and platforms
- Creative problem solver with a passion and knack for finding unique content solutions to meet complex challenges
- You’re curious, meticulous in your research, and determined to produce content that best meets the needs of our personas and where they are in their buyer journey
- You have strong project and relationship building skills, with a history of finishing projects on time
- Driven by data and the desire to learn, grow and continuously improve
- Team player who thrives in in a fast-paced environment
- You're not intimidated by the fact that this role is expected to deliver content and help to build experiences that generate ever-increasing revenue for the firm
Compensation, Benefits and Bonuses
The firm uses a performance based compensation model. Base compensation will increase commensurate with a candidate’s experience. The base salary is earned when the minimum levels of performance are achieved. When KPIs have been exceeded, bonus compensation is then earned; the amount of which is commensurate with the value to the firm. A full benefit package is included which includes health & disability insurance, 401k, paid time off, paid holidays, and more.
Office Work Environment
The firm currently resides in Class A fully renovated office space located in downtown Royal Oak in close proximity to several retail and restaurant destinations. We have a private parking lot and work in a private office which maintains about 15 employees therein. Employees and clients love our office space, which is representative of our success. The firm fosters a team culture and encourages the building of friendships between team members outside of work. The firm maintains an annual golf outing, hosts several team building activities and holiday parties.
Selection Process
The firm is very selective when adding team members. It is important that we take the time to ensure the right mutual fit. All elected candidates will undergo a comprehensive selection process. Selected candidates will undergo cognitive and behavior assessments, a screening interview (Zoom), a focused interview (in person) reference checks and the CEO interview (in person).
