The Cannabis Legal Group provides specialized and expert legal services to Michigan’s commercial cannabis industry. We intend to hire a Practice Group Leader (PGL) that will manage the entire practice group, including all of its lawyers, paralegals and administrative assistants.
Currently, the group has six (6) team members who will be directly reporting to the PGL.
Ensure the work performed by the team is exemplary, by regularly evaluating performance and fostering improvement where necessary
Collaborate with the Marketing, Operations and Finance Teams to ensure the achievement of revenue goals
Provide the necessary training to team members to ensure competent performance and maintenance of our reputation
Regularly communicate with the group’s clients to ensure high satisfaction of their “customer experience” and quality of service
Develop new client services, professional development, performance of sales consultations and marketing objectives
Engage in the team member hiring process to ensure that new hires are the appropriate “fit” and will achieve high levels of performance and success
10+ years of experience in providing business-related legal services to clients
Experience in real estate, corporate law, regulatory compliance and/or business litigation
Proven experience in managing a team to increase levels of performance

At the same time, the PGL must immediately identify sub-standard performance in its team members, and implement performance improvement plans to ensure every opportunity is provided for success, team member satisfaction and retention.
The firm uses a performance based compensation model. The base salary will be earned when the minimum levels of performance are achieved. When KPIs have been exceeded, bonus compensation is then earned; the amount of which is commensurate with the value to the firm. A full benefit package includes health & disability insurance, 401k, paid time off, paid holidays, and more.
The firm currently resides in Class A fully renovated office space located in downtown Royal Oak in close proximity to several retail and restaurant destinations. We have a private parking lot and work in a private office which maintains about 15 employees therein. Employees and clients love our office space which is representative of our success. The firm fosters a team culture and encourages the building of friendships between team members outside of work. The firm maintains an annual golf outing, hosts several team building activities and holiday parties.
